Lloyd has practiced law at several well established Zimbabwean law firms since early 1994. Although he has experience in general practice, Lloyd has a special interest in Conveyancing including registration of transfers and mortgage bonds with the Deeds Office. He has grown to be acknowledged as an expert in the field having delivered papers as well as lectured at University Undergraduate and Postgraduate level on Conveyancing , Notarial Practice and Advanced Land Law since 1999 and has published the first and only book on Conveyancing in Zimbabwe. He has extensive experience in financial transactions involving financing agreements for international funders having registered security in their favour binding local institutional debtors.

He also has experience in commercial and corporate law practice, banking and financial services work. Individually and as part of teams, Lloyd has advised on significant transactions including on competition laws, reconstruction and restructuring, schemes of arrangement, privatizations, unbundling, mergers and acquisitions and listings relating to a number of companies listed on the Zimbabwe Stock Exchange. He has also over the years been appointed on numerous occasions as an arbitrator to preside over commercial disputes.

Lloyd is, and has been a Director and Member of several public and private corporations and Councils including, FBC Building Society, Ecobank Zimbabwe Limited, Dawn Properties Limited, Council for Legal Education, Zimbabwe Schools Examinations Council, Standards Association of Zimbabwe General Council, ZECO Limited, Estate Agents Council, and a Trustee on a number of Charitable and Family Trusts established in Zimbabwe. He is a past President of the Law Society of Zimbabwe having been a Councillor for more than a decade. Lloyd has been appointed to several Constitutional Commissions including as a Commissioner on the Judicial Services Commission.

Lloyd is the Founding Partner and current Senior Partner of the Law Firm. Having been the Managing Partner of sizeable law practices for a number of years, Lloyd provides tried and tested leadership to the firm and ensures client care remains indelibly etched in the culture of the firm.

 

A holder of three University degrees, Lloyd has written and published the only textbook on Conveyancing in Zimbabwe (Conveyancing in Zimbabwe, LRF, 2005).He has been ranked for a number of consecutive years as a leading lawyer in the prestigious Chambers and Partners Global Legal Rankings.
